Fabrics

Carpinteros offers a wide selection of upholstery fabrics to cover our furniture. We carry designer lines of solids, chenilles, velvets, kilims, ethnic, traditional, country and contemporary patterns and prints. We also carry southwestern and vintage styles and a huge selection of leathers from around the world. We successfully assist our out-of-town clients in their selection process through the use of digital photos and fabric and leather samples.

We offer several styles of upholstery for our Taos Seating, including firmness options and fill choices. We also offer many different seat cushion options for our dining chairs. In the Taos Furniture tradition of quality and attention to detail, we carefully upholster the fabric pattern to match seamlessly, even through buttons. We use a rope-weave suspension system rather than springs as the support system for our seating. This rope-weave system is superior to springs for comfort, durability and dependability. Each piece is an heirloom, worthy of being passed down from generation to generation. Throughout four decades, many of our clients have re-upholstered their Taos Seating many times over, successfully changing the look of these durable, classic pieces.


Stain Finishes

Our four classic stains, represented in the upper right, are included in the base price of all pieces. The "Light" and "Dark" stains are essentially transparent and allow the natural qualities of the wood to show through. The "Weathered Light" and "Weathered Dark" are a little less transparent and covey an aged and weathered quality. Throughout our catalog we also feature several other custom finishes that are available for a small additional charge. These custom finishes are extremely labor intensive, requiring many hours of hand applied layering which yields the remarkable look only Carpinteros can offer.
